Description
Little Park Farm is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, which was refurbished and refronted in the early 18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with a brick front set on a stone plinth, featuring stone quoins and dressings. The building has an ashlar porch and stone slate roofs. It is two storeys high with attics and includes a two-storey porch that leads to a cross passage at the end of the hall. The staircase is located behind the stack at the passage end. The farmhouse has nine bays with slightly projecting symmetrical wings, and a parallel rear block that is likely from the 17th century.
The elevation features tall 12-pane sash windows set within stone architraves that have entablatures above them. The eaves are hollow moulded. Inside, there are many panelled rooms, including bolection moulded panelling on the landing and shell niches in the rear parlour. The hall has a fireplace with a moulded surround, and the ceiling beams are chamfered. There is an 18th-century open well staircase. A gilded chimney piece, which was formerly in the house, has been removed to Longford Castle. The arms of Moore and Dancastle are also noted.
