Description
The cartshed at West Kennett Farm dates from the 18th century and features a timber frame with a 20th-century brick gable and a thatched roof. It consists of five bays, although it likely originally had six. The northern side has three open bays, while the southern side has two bays that now serve as garages with doors. There is a narrow aisle at the rear. The structure includes tie beam trusses with straight raking struts leading to collars, and the principals are reduced over single clasped purlins. Straight braces connect the tie beams to the posts. The joints are numbered, but there are some irregularities present.
