Description

Prospect is a detached house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a tiled roof, gable end brick stacks, and coped verges. The house is two storeys high and has a two-window frontage. A central, originally six-panelled door, now disused, is set within an eared stone architrave topped with a flat wooden hood supported by consoles. Flanking the entrance door are a pair of 12-pane sash windows. The first floor features two pairs of 12-pane sash windows. Decorative features include a moulded coved stone eaves cornice and chamfered rusticated quoins. A 20th-century flat-roofed entrance porch has been added to the left return, and a two-storey rear extension of the 20th century is also present. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey in December 1985.
