SOUTH NEWTON WARMINSTER ROAD SU 03 NE (east side), Stoford 3/49 Milepost about 100 metres to north of Swan Inn GV II Milepost. 1840. Cast-iron classical-style pillar with low pedimented capping and plinth, raised lettering to front; SALISBURY/6/WARMINSTER/15. One of a series of cast-iron mileposts made by Carson and Miller, a firm of Warminster ironfounders, for turnpikes radiating from Warminster. (R.
