Description
Stoford House is a detached house located on the east side of Warminster Road in Stoford. It was originally built in the early 18th century, rebuilt in 1822, and altered in the 20th century. The house is rendered with a tiled roof and features gable end brick stacks. It is two stories high and has three windows with sash frames. The central entrance has a four-panelled door set within a trellised porch, flanked by 12-pane sash windows on either side. The first floor also has three 12-pane sashes and a datestone in the center that reads: BUILT/WM.RUMBOLD/1822, indicating the date of rebuilding. The right side of the house has 20th-century leaded steel casements. The rear outshut has been altered to include a two-storey range from the 20th century. Inside, the house features chamfered beams, an open fireplace, 19th-century stairs with stick balusters, and four-panelled doors.
