Hogsbush Farmhouse With Shed Attached To North

Hogsbush Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century at the front and the 17th century at the rear, is constructed of rendered rubble stone with ashlar dressings. The front range features a coped-gabled mansard roof with end wall stacks, and it is two storeys high with an attic. There are three hipped dormers with sash windows: a 16-pane window in the center and paired 12-pane windows on each side. Each floor has three 12-pane sashes set in flush surrounds, with a 20th-century door at the center. The building has flush quoins, a raised plinth, and a floor band.

The rear range is one and a half storeys tall, with ridge and end wall stacks, and features ovolo-moulded mullion windows, many of which have been renewed in the 20th century. There are three coped dormer gables on each side. The south front includes three-light upper windows and four-light ground floor windows with king-mullions, as well as a two-light window to the right, all adorned with hoodmoulds. The north side has three-light upper windows with hoodmoulds and one two-light recessed chamfer-moulded window to the left.

On the ground floor, there is a lean-to with a 20th-century four-light, four-panel door and a two-light window, alongside an original four-light window with a hoodmould, one light of which is blocked by a buttress. There is also a small recessed chamfer-moulded single light and a six-panel door. The west end features a single-storey range open to the north, with two-light recessed chamfered mullion windows on the west and south sides, and a hoodmould on the south side.

Projecting from the south front is a 20th-century two-bay open-fronted range that includes reused mullion windows at the south end and on the north rear wall. Attached by a wall parallel to the north side of the rear range is a stone-tiled shed with four open bays to the south, supported by square stone piers with chamfered bases and capitals.
