Description
This is a farmhouse dating back to the 17th century, with alterations and additions from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings and has stone slate roofs, featuring two gable stacks and coped gables with kneelers.
The south front has a centrally positioned doorway with a six-panel door and a flush ashlar surround. To the right is a former six-light chamfered mullion window, now divided into three smaller windows with differing glazing bars. To its right is a former two-light chamfered mullion window, now a single light with margin light glazing, above the remains of a chamfered hood band. To the left of the doorway is a pair of six-pane sashes with flush ashlar surrounds, and above are three pairs of sashes. The left-hand sashes have four panes each, while the others have six panes, all with flush ashlar surrounds and the remains of Tudor hood moulds. The north front has, to the left, a former three-light chamfered mullion window, now a two-light window, and to the right a former two-light chamfered mullion window. Above, a central round-headed staircase window with a sash is visible, and to the left is another glazing bar sash. To the east is a lower addition with double garage doors and, to its left, a single doorway with a plank door. Attached to the west is a small outhouse and a lean-to privy.
Low stone walls enclose a rectangular front garden, and in the south-east corner is a small pigsty with a doorway and stone feeding troughs.
The interior features a single-flight return stick baluster staircase, chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and a 19th-century iron range set within an ashlar fireplace.
