Description
This is an early 17th-century dovecote located north of Hogsbush Farmhouse. The dovecote is constructed of rubble stone with a stone tiled roof, featuring coped gables and saddle stones. It has a stone-tiled pyramid roofed wooden louvre. A timber lintel doorway is present on the south side, with a smaller opening above the lintel. A carved armorial panel with a merchant’s mark is situated to the right. The roof is divided into three bays, and nesting boxes are incorporated into all four walls. The dovecote was noted by John Aubrey in the mid-17th century.
