Description

Nos 4 and 6 Orchard Close are two attached cottages dating from the 18th century. They are constructed of flint-laced brick with brick quoins and feature a thatched roof. The cottages are two storeys high. No 4 has three bays and a central half-glazed door topped with a tiled pent roof, along with late 19th-century timber casement windows and gable stacks. There is an uninscribed slate stone and a blocked door to the right of the existing entrance. No 6 is a one-bay extension to the left, which is rendered, and also has a half-glazed door with a tiled pent roof and a gable stack. The right gable and rear elevation facing Water Lane are rendered as well.
