Description
This is a mid- to late 17th-century farmhouse, extended and altered in the 19th century. It is built of flint with stone quoins and has a 20th-century tiled roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays. The layout includes a through-stair hall, with service rooms to the right and sitting rooms to the left. A late 19th-century wing was added to the rear, incorporating an earlier late 17th or early 18th-century dairy that had been built behind the kitchen. The front of the house features an early 19th-century six-panelled door, half-glazed, with a later bracketed canopy. Ovolo-moulded four-light stone windows with labels are set into the centre and left bays. Later 18th or 19th-century windows, with leaded glazing in the upper lights, are present in the right bay. Gable stacks are visible. The right gable has an arch, likely originally to accommodate a large oven, and a 19th-century cloakroom. The interior was not inspected.
