Description

Wellington Villa is a house dating to the 1840s. It is built of limestone ashlar, with coursed rubble on the sides, and has ashlar ridge and rear lateral stacks topped by a slate hipped roof. The house follows a double-depth plan, and is two storeys high with a two-window front, alongside a projecting wing to the right. A continuous plat band runs along the facade. The left-hand side features a semicircular arched doorway with a raised surround, an impost, a key stone, a four-pane fanlight, and a 20th-century panelled door. The projecting wing has a mid-19th century canted bay with a crenellated parapet and a two-over-two-pane sash window on the ground floor, with an eight-over-eight-pane sash window above. The words "WELLINGTON VILLA" are incised into the plat band above the doorway. A two-storey outshut extends from the rear of the property. The right-hand return has a two-window range. The interior has not been inspected.
