Description

This building is a cottage from the 17th century, constructed from sarsen and chalkstone, with timber framing and 17th-century brick noggings. It features a thatched roof and is a single storey with an attic, divided into two bays. The right bay is likely older, being a single storey sarsen structure that has been raised to include an attic made of clunch. There is a gable stack that replaces the original central stack, and the entrance is located at the rear, opposite the original stack. The left bay is framed on a sarsen pebble sill, with the framing consisting of two panels high and a corner brace, and it now serves as a kitchen. There is also a lean-to extension on the left end that contains a bathroom.
