Description

Nos 60 and 62 are a pair of estate cottages built around 1870 to 1880. They feature Flemish brickwork on a stone foundation plinth, with tile hanging on the first floor and a tiled roof. The cottages are bilaterally symmetrical, with recessed entrances leading to stair halls at the center and living rooms on the outer sides. There is a raised lean-to tiled porch made of open timberwork on dwarf brick walls. The brickwork displays a blue brick diaper pattern. Each cottage has three-light windows with finely gauged brick arches and roll arris. The central steep gable is adorned with herringbone timbering and panelled barge boards, along with flush gabled dormers. Ribbed brick stacks are present on the outer gables. The entrance of No 60 has been altered, and both cottages have inconsequential rear extensions.
