Description
Nos 3 and 4 are a pair of semi-detached cottages built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from Flemish and English garden wall bond brick and feature a thatched roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The cottages are single-storey with an attic and have a two-window entrance front that faces away from the road. There are two planked doors with gabled canopies, and on either side, there are 2-light segmental-headed casements. A three-brick plat band with a dentilled lower course runs along the front, and there are two eyebrow dormers with 2-light casements in the attic. The left and right returns each have single-light casements in the attics. The rear, which faces the road, has a single casement to the right and two eyebrow dormers with single-light casements. Lean-to sheds are attached to the returns. This pair of cottages is an unaltered example of 18th-century architecture.
