Description

The Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century. It features square-panelled timber framing, with the south side rebuilt in English garden wall bond brick. The cottage has a thatched roof with brick stacks at the gable ends, which face the road. It is two storeys high and has a three-window south front. On the ground floor, there is a planked door to the right and three 2-light casements to the left. The first floor also has three 2-light casements. At the rear, the timber frame is retained on the first floor, which includes a mix of 3-light and 2-light casements. The right side of the cottage, facing the road, has a single-storey shed with a double-Roman tiled roof. There is a 20th-century lean-to extension on the left side. The interior was not accessible during the survey in July 1986.
