Description

Dene View is a house formed from three cottages, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed sarsen stone with a thatched roof. The house is single-storey with attics, originally comprising four bays, with hipped extensions added at each end. An entrance is located in the left bay, to the side of the chimney stack, and a secondary entrance is at the rear of the third bay. It has timber windows, with two flush dormers facing the front and four at the rear. Brick stacks are present, and the roof is hipped over the outbuildings. The first and third bays contain large fireplaces with ovens, the oven in the third bay projecting and covered with slate on the front. A small 20th-century extension has been added to the rear.
