Description
Nos 28 and 30 Church Street are a pair of cottages built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed from red brick in Flemish bond and feature plain tile roofs. The cottages are two storeys high, with two windows on each floor and a central doorway for each cottage, along with a passage doorway between them. The doors consist of six fielded panels and are set in wooden doorcases that have panelled reveals, reeded pilasters, and flat hoods. The central passageway includes a boarded door with a segmental arch above it. The cottages have projecting stone sills and rubbed-brick, cambered arches over 16-pane sash windows on the ground floor and 4/8-pane sash windows above. The eaves are dentilled, and there is a central ridge stack, as well as an end stack on the right and another end stack on the left that is shared with 32 Church Street.
