Description

Knapp Cottage is a pair of cottages that have been converted into one house. The date "1698" is incised on the door lintel. The building is constructed of rubble stone with an asbestos slate roof, featuring stone and brick gable ends and axial brick stacks. The entrance is located at the rear.

The south front is two stories high and has four windows. On the left, there is a 20th-century glazed door in a porch, and to the right, a planked door, both surrounded by chamfered stone. To the left, there is a 20th-century casement window, while to the right, there are recessed chamfered mullioned casements with two lights and three lights. The first floor has four three-light mullioned casements, with the two on the left featuring cast-iron latticed casements.

There is a single-storey 19th-century extension with a double Roman tiled roof and a planked door on the left. The right side of the building has either two-light or single-light mullioned casements on the ground, first, and attic floors. The left side has a two-light casement on the first floor. The rear features 20th-century ground floor casements and two single-light chamfered casements on the first floor.

Inside, there is a chamfered beam with stepped stops and an open fireplace with a renewed lintel set on chamfered stone jambs.
