Description
The Crown Inn is a mid-19th century inn located at the end of a row on Church Street in Tisbury. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a tiled roof with brick stacks at the rear. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys with four windows. A double modern door with a semi-circular fanlight is positioned to the right of the center. On either side of the door are late 19th-century two-storey bays that contain 3-light casements topped with polygonal roofs. To the left, there is an elliptical-headed cart entry leading to the stable yard. On the first floor, there is a 2-light casement above the cart entry and doorway, both with hoodmoulds. A notable plaster inn sign is located on the gable above the right casement. The left return features early 20th-century mullioned casements on the rear wing. The interior has not been inspected.
