Description
Overhouse is a detached house dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features an asbestos-tiled roof with brick stacks. The building is single storey with an attic and has five windows. The central entrance includes a ledged door set in a chamfered stone surround, leading to a stone porch. To the right of the entrance are three-light and two two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements, one of which is a 20th-century replacement. To the left, there is a two-storey gabled bay with four-light hollow-chamfered mullioned casements and sidelights on both the ground and first floors. Above the door, a full gabled dormer features a three-light mullioned casement, now fitted with steel casements, and a hoodmould with a blocked single light above. Attached to the left is a late 19th-century two-storey extension. The right side of the building has two single recessed chamfered casements in the attic. The rear includes a two-storey gabled wing and 20th-century steel casements. The interior reportedly has chamfered beams and open fireplaces.
