Description

LACOCK HIGH STREET ST 9168 (north side) 4/99 Barn to east of Tithe Barn at Manor Farm (formerly listed as Barn at Abbey Farm, SW of 20.12.60 farmhouse) GV II

Barn C16 or earlier, rubble stone with stone slate roof. Two sections, barn to east, stable and loft to west with hipped lean-to on west end wall. Barn has north side double doors, stable has door, small openings each side and gabled loading door over. Seven-bay windbraced single purlin roof with tie-beam-and-collar trusses. Cambered collars. One truss in barn has curved cruck principal rafters rising from tie-beam. Behind stable door is earlier opening of 2 bays with centre post and curved braces to tie-beam and wall-plate.
