Description
No. 17 Castle Road is a terraced house built around the 1870s. The exterior is finished in stucco and features a slate roof with sprocketed eaves. The house has a double-depth, single-fronted plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic and basement. The front is asymmetrical with two windows and includes a platband. On the left side, there is a four-panel front door with a plain overlight, a proud architrave, and a floating dentil cornice supported by consoles. To the right, there is a tripartite window with a proud architrave and a similar cornice, featuring four-pane sashes with horizontal glazing bars. The first floor has two windows, also with four-pane sashes and moulded architraves. The attic contains two large segmental-headed dormers, each with segmental-headed sashes that are similarly glazed. The interior has not been inspected but may have interesting features.
