Description
No. 21 Castle Road is a terraced house built around the 1870s. It has a plastered exterior and a slate roof with sprocketed eaves. The house features stacks with rendered shafts that have cornices or platbands. The building has a double-depth, single-fronted plan and stands two storeys tall, with a basement and attic.
The front facade is asymmetrical, with two windows and a platband. The front door, located to the left, has six vertical panels and a plain fanlight above it. To the right, there is a ground-floor window that consists of a paired sash with four-pane sashes and horizontal glazing bars. On the first floor, there are two windows with plain proud architraves and similar glazing. The attic features two segmental-headed dormers, each glazed with segmental-headed two-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected but may contain interesting features.
