Description
58 Tor Hill Road is a villa built around the 1840s, possibly related to the nearby No. 56, as they share a stable yard. The building has a plastered exterior and an asbestos slate roof, which is gabled at the right end and features pierced ridge tiles. There are end stacks with brick shafts and platbands.
The villa is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with three windows and an eaves band. The central entrance is a recessed six-panel front door with glazed panels, although the trellis porch has been removed since the 1975 listing. The ground floor has two windows, and the first floor has three windows, which have unfortunately been reglazed with plastic but still maintain the shape of the original high-transomed casements with margin panes.
The interior has not been inspected but may still have interesting features. This property is included for its group value with No. 56.
