Description

Alderbourne is a villa, now a residential home, built around 1850. It has a plastered exterior and slate roofs, with stacks featuring rendered shafts and platbands. The building has a double-depth rectangular plan with the entrance on the east side.

The villa is two storeys high and has gables adorned with pierced, cusped bargeboards. The front facade is asymmetrical with a 3:1 window arrangement; the central three bays are recessed between two gabled projections, with the left-hand projection being blind and featuring a shallow projecting stack. There is a gabled porch to the left of the center, which has a segmental-headed outer doorway. All the windows are 12-pane 19th-century sashes. The left side of the building has two gables and two ground-floor tripartite sashes, with first-floor windows that match those on the front. A large late 20th-century addition is present on the left side. The interior has not been inspected but may still contain interesting features.
