Description
6 and 8 Temperance Place are a mirrored pair of terraced houses built in the early 19th century. They have a solid rendered front, while the left side wall is made of stone rubble. The houses feature a slated roof and a red-brick chimney on the left side wall, with possibly more chimneys not visible from Temperance Place. Each house has four storeys, with one window per storey positioned at the outer end of the front. The paired doorways are located in the center; No. 6 has an old plank door with an inset window, while No. 8 has a late 20th-century half-glazed wood door. Both houses have box-framed sash windows on the ground storey, with No. 6 having 8 over 8 panes and No. 8 having 4 over 4 panes. The other windows are late 20th-century wood casements.
