Description
This is a threshing barn dated 1841, located about 18 metres northeast of Old Green Farmhouse. It is constructed of coursed rubble with limestone and sandstone dressings, featuring a stone tiled roof on the south front and double Roman tiled roofs on the single-storey south extensions, as well as a single-storey east extension and rear. The barn has a T-plan layout.
The front includes a gabled cart entry with a limestone and sandstone segmental head and a limestone key, along with plank doors that have strap hinges and ventilation slits on the sides. The west side features a loading door at an upper level with a sandstone segmental head, a ventilation slit, and a circular pigeon entry with a limestone cill. The east side has additional ventilation slits. At the rear, there is another cart entry with a sandstone segmental head and limestone key, loading doors on both the right and left at the upper level, and ventilation slits at ground level.
Inside, the barn has six bays with collar, principal rafter, and plated yoke. The ventilation slits have deep splayed reveals with timber lintels, and the inner arch of the front cart entry also has a limestone and sandstone segmental head.
