ALVESTON OLD GLOUCESTER ROAD (west side) Brook Cottage

Cottage. C17 with later alterations. Rubble, stone dressings, pantiled roof. Single room plan with rear outshut. 2 storeys and one window, C19 6-pane sashes, C17 plank and ridge door with 4-centred head, relieving arch to door and ground floor window, east side has sandstone rubble upper part infilling former gable stack. Interior: one deep-chamfered beam. A rare unextended survival of this type.
