Description

The Kennels is a building that dates from the early 18th century, with extensions added in the mid to late 19th century. The central section is from the 18th century and is constructed of rendered brick with a hipped slate roof. It is a single-storey structure with five bays, where the central three bays are slightly advanced and topped with a pediment. The windows are two-light casements featuring keystones, shutters, and bars. The central entrance has a bolection moulded surround. There is a lean-to at the front. The 19th-century section is also made of brick and has slate roofs with central wood louvre vents. This part is single-storey with a gable end facing the front and includes a triple semi-circular headed window. At the rear of the 19th-century section, there is a wing with an upper storey that was formerly used to accommodate kennel workers.
