Description
The Cottage is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of High Street in Badminton. The building is rendered and features a Cotswold stone slate roof with coped raised verges and ashlar stacks with cornices. It has two storeys, with four windows and a central door, and end quoins. The windows are glazing bar sash types set in plain surrounds, with canted bay windows in the outer bays of the ground floor and tripartite sash windows above. The central open porch is supported by Doric columns and pilasters, featuring a plain entablature and blocking course, and it has a panelled door. To the right, there is a two-bay extension with glazing bar sash windows. At the rear, there is a large 20th-century wing that is rendered and lined out to resemble ashlar, with a moulded cornice and parapet. This wing has five bays and features two-light casements with moulded surrounds and segmental heads.
