Description

Milestone located at the north-east corner of the garden wall, approximately 30 metres east of Laurel House. This milestone dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century and is made of sandstone, with some parts painted. It is a round-headed stone, standing about 50 centimetres high and 20 centimetres deep. The stone features inscribed text, highlighted in black on a white background, which reads "VIII/Miles from /Wotton/X2/Bristol."
