Description

This is a pair of attached barns, possibly originating from the 18th century, with an addition to the west dated 1860. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble with stone dressings and feature a pantiled roof that has raised coped verges and a finial on the south side. The barns are two storeys tall.

On the south elevation, there is a central door with a chamfered surround and a shouldered arch, flanked by a single light on each side that has leaded lights and chamfered surrounds. Above, there are two curved triangular blocked openings and a re-set stone with a carved anthemion, along with a pair of rectangular lancets and a small blind lancet in the gable. Each side has a buttress with three set-offs.

The barn attached to the west has a central segmental-headed cart entry featuring a rusticated keystone, with a small cross window above that has a chamfered mullion and transom, a lancet, and a datestone. There is also a single light at the ground floor right. The east elevation includes four doors, each with a keystone and segmental head, with one blocked to the left. There are two loading doors under the eaves with 20th-century windows inset, and a single light to the left. The lower wing to the right has a door with a segmental head and keystone, and a small false gable above.
