Description

The guidestone at the junction with Bury Lane dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is made of limestone and features a hipped top. A square cast iron plate is fixed to the front of the limestone block. The plate has an inscription in raised lettering that reads: "THE BATH ROADS/TO THE GUILDHALL BATH." Between the upper two lines of lettering, there is a raised hand with a pointed finger.
