Description
This is a pair of gate piers located at the main entrance to Tracy Park, dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed from coursed limestone rock-faced rubble with Bath stone dressings. Each pier stands about 5 metres high on a large square plinth featuring Bath stone quoins. The piers have a cushion base and are tall and square, adorned with moulded quoin strips. The front of each pier displays a raised circular panel featuring the shield of arms of Charles Rex Davy of Tracy Park, Doynton. The design includes a cornice, a very heavy projecting upper cornice, and a double cross finial at the top.
