Description
The walls and gate piers at the former main entrance to Wick Court date from the 18th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and rubble, featuring stone dressings. There are two walls, each forming an arc approximately 4 metres long and about 2 metres high. The front of the walls is made of ashlar, while the rear is rubble, topped with stone coping. The terminal piers are plain and square, standing about 2 metres high, with a cornice and a shaped top. Additionally, there are two central square piers that have a cornice and a large ball finial on a stem, with a stone scroll located at the angle between the outer side of the pier and the top of the wall. Only the pintles remain from the former gates.
