Description
This pair of estate cottages, located 20 yards to the west of the Almshouses in Badminton, dates from the early 18th century. They are rendered and feature a hipped Cotswold stone slate roof with ashlar end stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and consist of five bays, each with 2-light cross windows that have lead cames and iron casement stays. The central entrance has a door beneath a flat stone hood supported by cut brackets, while to the right there is an additional 19th-century plank door also under a flat hood. Surrounding the cottages are low, coped, coursed squared rubble boundary walls, with central ashlar gate piers topped with ball finials. These cottages are plain examples of Queen Anne style houses and are situated in a significant village street.
