Description
The gate piers, wall, and gate, located about 56 metres north west of the archway to Over Court, date from the mid 18th century. They are constructed from limestone rubble and ashlar, with cast iron elements. The rubble wall is approximately 25 metres long and 3 metres high, featuring ashlar coping that ramps down at each end. The gate piers are rusticated ashlar on a moulded plinth, topped with a cornice and flat top, and have scroll-topped jambs. The cast iron gate includes spike-headed finials on the left side, while the right side has only a cast iron pier remaining.
