2/133 Estate Yard and Old Forge, incorporating Saw Mill, Offices G.V. and Timber Yard II

Estate yard, old forge, saw mill, offices and timber yard. Circa 1880 for the Earl of Ducie's estate. Rubble; C20 tiled roofs. Long range of buildings in 2 parts; all single storey and attics in gabled dormers. To the left: gabled projecting porch at far left with two 2-light casement windows in gabled dormers; central depressed arch carriage entry also under a gable; further plank door to right; bellcote over east gable. Right range: plank door and 2-light window at far right. To the rear are 3 ranges of open sheds and workshops, enclosing a yard: slate and pantile roofs; carriage entry under gable on west range. 5 yards to the north west of the yard is the old forge: L-plan with plain tiled roof and a projecting lateral stack at the west end. The estate yards forms an important group with the church, green and the cottages (q.v.).
