Description
This barn, located approximately 30 meters north-west of Algars Manor, dates from the 18th century and includes a 19th-century extension of a late medieval structure. It is built from rubble and brick, with a double Roman tile roof featuring a stone ridge and a ball finial. The barn has a gabled design with six bays that have been raised to their current height, along with a seventh hipped two-storey bay above an elliptical entry on the south side. There is a later lean-to cart entry on the east and a gabled two-bay entry on the west, which is flanked by a catslide extension. The north gable displays the earlier gable line and a rounded corner. Inside, the barn features collar and tie-beam trusses, and the gable and wall-head outline of the earlier barn is still visible, along with thicker walls made of thinner coursed masonry and timber pads.
