Description
This is a barn located approximately 10 metres to the southwest of Old Hall Farmhouse. It was formerly dated 1692 on a panel, but is now incorrectly dated 1675. The right end and part of the left gable end were rebuilt in the 19th century. There are 18th to 19th century lean-to stable extensions at the rear. The main part of the barn is timber-framed, featuring short slightly curved braces, with colour-washed render and brick infill. A rubble stone base extends under the brick rebuilding of the right bay, while the left gable has been partially rebuilt in brick. The barn has a 20th-century corrugated asbestos roof and consists of four bays. The front facing the road has a board door with a worn brick sill in the third bay. The rear includes a blocked cart entry and lean-to stables made of brick and rubble stone, featuring two stable doors and two pitching eyes. The original roof trusses include raking queen posts.
