Description
This is a barn located 2 metres behind St. Algars Farmhouse. It dates from the 14th century but was extensively rebuilt in the 17th and 20th centuries. The barn features a random rubble construction with a double-Roman concrete tile roof that is half hipped to the right, while the left side has some plain tiles. There are two 20th-century gabled dormers and a small truncated brick stack on the left. The barn is one storey and has an attic, with a roof structure comprising four bays. The ground floor has 19th and 20th-century casement windows with glazing bars, although one window is blocked. There is a door opening framed in brick with a divided plank door. Inside, there is a single cruck truss with a tenoned cambered collar. Alterations were still taking place at the time of the last survey in November 1983.
