Description
Castle Hayes Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage located on Barbican Road in Plympton St Maurice. The building is constructed of rubble with red brick arches and features a steep dry slate roof that has two steep-pitched gables and a porch gable, all adorned with shaped barge boards. There is also a small gabled dormer above the porch. The cottage has a rendered gable stack on the left side and a lateral stack at the rear right. It has a two-room plan with a rear lean-to that has been heightened. The cottage is two storeys tall, with some first-floor rooms partly in the roof space. The windows are two and three-light casements with diamond-leaded panes. The steep gabled porch, situated between the roof gables, has a pointed-arched doorway that features a planked door. The interior has not been inspected.
