Description
Milton House is a town house with a later shop, dating from the 18th century. It features incised stucco on the exterior and has an asbestos slate roof with a modillion eaves cornice. The roof includes two gabled dormers with turned finials and old casement windows that have glazing bars, along with brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range that was likely symmetrical before a shop window was added. The ground floor has late 19th-century four-pane horned sash windows and a late 19th-century shop window on the right, which includes a six-pane horned sash and a simple entablature with a shaped valance to screen the blind. The central doorway is pilastered and features a moulded cornice, an overlight, and a six-panel door. The interior has not been inspected, but a former listing description mentions what is likely an original chinoiserie staircase.
