Description

This is an 18th-century town house located on Fore Street, Plympton St Maurice, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The front facade is rendered and features mid-19th century stucco detailing, including a plinth. The right-hand return has slate hanging, and the roof is steeply pitched and covered in slate, with a modillioned and dentilled eaves cornice. The building has a double-depth plan, likely containing two rooms at the front which lead to a central entrance hall.

The house is three stories high and has a symmetrical three-window front. The second floor features four-pane hornless sash windows with intermediate glazing bars removed. Later 19th-century four-pane sash windows with horns are found on the lower floors, all set within moulded architraves with vermiculated keyblocks to the ground and first floors. The central doorway has a vermiculated pilastered surround with a moulded hood on consoles, and a fanlight above a panelled door with fielded panels. The interior remains uninspected but appears likely to contain features of interest.
