Description

The war memorial, built around 1920, honors those who died in World War I and later in World War II. It features a dressed granite column topped with a lantern cross, set on a stepped and moulded cruciform-plan plinth that rests on a square base with splayed corners. At the base of the column, there is a mourning figure holding a wreath, along with an inscribed panel displaying relief lettering beneath a coat of arms on the plinth. The octagonal lantern has a moulded base and cornice, with openings that feature cusped tracery, and is topped with a chamfered Latin cross.
