Description
The entrance walls and gate piers to Nelson Gardens, located on Trafalgar Road in Stoke, were built in the 1860s. They serve as the entrance to a planned group of villas. Constructed from Plymouth limestone, the walls are squared and laid in diminishing courses, featuring a dressed limestone plinth and copings. The gate piers are rusticated, with plinths and moulded caps. The walls have a cyma-on-plan design and flank a wide entrance that is marked by square-on-plan piers.
