Description

Woodside Cottage is a detached house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features slate hanging on what is likely rubble, with a dry slate hipped roof and projecting eaves. The house has stuccoed end stacks and a stack at the rear right. It has a double-depth plan with two rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front, with original 12-pane hornless sash windows.

The central entrance is highlighted by a pilastered porch that has a moulded entablature and glazed sides, leading to an original panelled door with flush bottom panels. On the left side of the house, there is an original sash window on each floor, while the right side features a later 19th-century two-storey canted bay with a moulded entablature, horned sashes on the first floor, and French windows with margin panes on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
