Description

The lodges at Lipson Terrace are a pair of single-storey buildings located at the entrance to a planned terrace of houses in Plymouth. They date from the 18th century and feature a rendered exterior that has replaced the original stucco. The lodges have dry slate roofs that are octagonal in shape, topped with ball finials and set behind parapets with stepped cornices. Each lodge has a single cell plan and is positioned on either side of the carriageway. There are recessed panels on each side and blind windows, with one doorway per lodge that has a 20th-century six-panel door. The interior has not been inspected. These lodges form a notable group with the terrace of houses they serve.
