Description

The direction stone, dated 1754, is a bollard-like block made of dressed freestone with a domed head. It is set into a niche in a grouted rubble wall. The stone features a crude carving of a bird above an inscription. On the left side, it indicates "The way to the Old King's Arms and Exeter Inn," while the right side states "To Old Town Gate 1754."
