Description

6 Cumberland Street is a house with a later shop, built around 1880 as part of a planned terrace. It is stucco-faced with a heavily moulded parapet cornice, and has an asbestos slate roof with two dormers. Brick end stacks are also present. The house follows a double-depth plan.

The building is three storeys high and has a two-window front. It features original twelve-pane hornless sash windows, with the first-floor openings being taller than those above. The ground floor has a late 19th-century moulded entablature above a full-width shopfront. The shopfront includes a transomed entrance with a splayed central glazed door and overlight. A blocked doorway is situated to the left of the shopfront.

The interior has not been inspected.
